MISLEAD
by Stacy Lee Ortiguero
it scared me so much,
when i first saw it,
the vast,
the depth,
everything upon
and everything beneath,
i played in its margins
frightened it might sweep me away
and drown me
with my own accord,
most times i race
with its restlessness,
but sometimes
i build castles on its shore
and let the wind wrap me
sought peace,
found salvation,
the dips,
the rises,
revealing,
concealing.
frightful,
wonderful,
mysterious.
it scared me so much
when i first saw it.
"the ocean?"
"your love."
